Lady GaGa's VMA domineightion

LADY GAGA bagged EIGHT MTV Video Music Awards last night.
But it was her fashion choices that really stole the show at the event.

With one dress in particular, made out of meat, stealing the show.

Last week GaGa appeared on the cover of Japanese Vogue in a meat bikini, which had some critics accusing her of being tasteless.

Unabashed, the pop superstar went a step further at the VMAs in her meat dress, with matching meat heels and a meat purse.

She wore two other outfits, a Victorian-inspired number for the 'red' carpet (which was actually white) and a huge black dress that was so big she needed a hand to get on and off stage to accept one of her many awards.

GaGa also announced the name of her next album, which will be called Born This Way.

Meanwhile, teen titan JUSTIN BIEBER picked up Best New Artist and KANYE WEST returned to the stage following his controversial invasion last year.

Kanye rapped about last year's incident, when he jumped on stage when TAYLOR SWIFT was accepting her Best Female Video award.

Part of his song went: "I always find something wrong; you've been putting up with my (expletive) for too long."

With a chorus I can't repeat - I can tell you it included the line "Let's have a toast to scumbags" though.

LINDSAY LOHAN made an appearance at the very start of the show mocking her recent troubles with host CHELSEA HANDLER.

In the opening skit, Lindsay stopped Handler as she made her way into her dressing room, asking if she'd been drinking.

"You think anyone wants to work with a drunk? Take it from me, they don't," she said to the host before giving her a pep talk.

EMINEM teamed up with RIHANNA for Love The Way You Lie, although he left the award show early to head over to New York where the second leg of his Home and Home Tour takes place.

CHER rolled back the years in a very revealing outfit.

FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE represented for the Brits, picking up the award for Best Art Direction on Dog Days Are Over.

Despite performances from the likes of USHER, Eminem and Rihanna, Justin Bieber and LINKIN PARK the rest of the show was relatively void of standout moments.

Does anyone know the message Gaga is trying to portray here?? 0k - she's outdone Madonna on this one for innovative attention seeking.. If she was vegetarian I could understand the message she's getting across, cuz it does look gross, wearing what looks like raw animal flesh.. eugh.. I've read that she's partial to a burger & adores salmon, so not quite sure what her intention is - maybe it's simply for 'the shock factor..' I'm actually a meat eater myself but would like to cut it out. After seeing this, it's quite stomach churning..

she's a talented entertainer, who writes some catchy songs and makes interesting videos. and do you guys REALLY believe that the dress was actually made out of meat ? she would have been surrounded by flies if it had been. it's fabric designed to look like meat. gordon bennett - some people will believe anything !!

You can criticise GaGa for anything you like, and whether you like her (or her music & dress sense) or not, the one thing you cannot do is call her talentless. She is a classically trained musician who writes her own material and she choreographs all the dance routines herself, not to mention that she can sing if even she chooses not to.

Lady Gaga is the biggest in the world right now. The people that don't like her are a minority. Everyone likes at least 1 of her songs even if they don't like her.

There are so many young female singers out there...that she has to stand out.She is just making sure she makes the headlines.However ...there is the chance that after a while...her persona will become rather tedious.

she's a talent

It's a shame to focus on her clothes when she had discharged soldiers accompany her to protest the "don't ask don't tell" rule. That should be the real headline - doing that is truly admirable and it's a shame it's been eclipsed by some dresses.

lady gaga is an amazing performer and icon. it wasnt real cuts of meat. it was to show that 'if we dont stand up for our rights then we will just be seen as a piece of meat' thats what she stated.

I think she looks crap no matter how she's dressed... sorry.

She's an artist through song and through fashion - thats how she makes statements get over it people!

What a horrible meat dress! Should keep it for the Halloween occasion.

And the award for a complete lack of genuine musical integrity goes to MTV. This is pop drivel, targeted at those with absolutely no culture or taste in music.
Awarding this woman an award for anything other than a bewildering ability to sell awful records to a classless society is a travesty.

Well done GaGa! Well deserved.
