SOME people were at the fall of the Berlin Wall, others at Manchester's Lesser Free Trade Hall for the legendary SEX PISTOLS gig.
Me? I was there when JLS decided to launch a range of charity condoms.

Yesterday the lads unveiled their new Just Love Safe selection, created in association with Durex.

But the idea came about thanks to a conversation at Bizarre HQ back in March.

Bandmember MARVIN HUMES said yesterday: "We were at The Sun and mentioned that we had the idea of having our own condom range.

"The boss of Durex saw the story in the paper the next day, got in touch and the idea was born from there."

And here are the lads - from left, ASTON MERRYGOLD, ORITSE WILLIAMS, Marvin and JB - pictured on their differently-coloured packs.

They almost measure up to my own branded box.

All profits from the range will go to the new JLS charity foundation - and the band will distribute the cash from there to their chosen charities.

The obvious question had to be whether the condoms would be sold in varying sizes, but the band dodged that by saying they would all be extra-safe.

JB admitted the lads already have an idea whose packet will be flying off the shelves quickest. He said: "I think we can safely say we know who'll win." I presume Marvin.

But the lads aren't planning on helping their bandmates get ahead in the contest. Oritse said: "We'll definitely be carrying our own."

The charity venture does have its drawbacks, because the group know they are likely to get boxes of condoms lobbed at them during gigs, along with the usual knickers and bras.

That's not that new, though. Marvin admitted: "We've had a few thrown at us in our time."

He added: "I'd like some of the money to go towards cancer research because my nan died from it.

"Then some will go towards multiple sclerosis, as Oritse's mum suffers from that."

The JLS condoms go on sale across the country next week.

If you only get One Shot, make sure it's with a JLS johnny.

I think this is a fantastic idea. JLS are geting involved in trying to encourage safe sex. JLS's biggest fanbase is young girls around 16 and under and its around this age group especially that we all encourage safe sex. Some lads may say "thats off putting having their faces on them, i'm not wearing 1 of them" but their faces are only on the boxes, the wrappers have just got their 4 coloures on. If the boy wants to have sex with the girl that much then he will wear it no matter whats on the box or wrapper! There will even be some girls who will be impressed if the boy has them. Plus don't forget, all the proceeds are going to charity. Well done JLS, you boys are amazing! love you all! :-)

Great idea, that should boost up the teen pregancies rate...Lets face it , it's young girls who are mainly fans of JLS and there aren't many, young girls who buy condoms, no young man is going to want to be seen with a condom box with JLS on it, he'd be a laughing stock.

Advertising gone mad! Who thinks of these ideas? I only hope this doesn't start a trend because I can almost see the Katie Price, Kerry Katona clan seriously considering this one!

Anyone who promotes safe sex gets my nod! These guys are using their brand to promote safe sex and we should be supportive because safe sex is a necessity in this day and age. I love these guys and think it's a lovely and responsible thing to do BUT... most men would be mortified if their girl was to pull out a box of condoms with a picture of JLS on it, and way too embarassed to buy a box themselves.

I agree, in an age with rising STI'S, Teenage Pregnancy, rise in abortion rates, I think this is a good idea, and if just a few young lads and lasses practice safe sex because of this, then I think its a job well done.
